When making a YouTube channel, be very careful about the name you choose. You will never be able to change it. Choose a name that is related to the content you post, is unique and something that will stick in your viewers' brains, and different to those of other YouTubers. Check if the name you want is already taken, or someone has a name very similar to it!
It’s equally important that you produce quality content and delete anything that you think may not contribute to making your videos better. This means that you need to be selective with the clips you include in the final cut. Choose only your best shots (and clip out moments of dead air) to keep your viewers interested and engaged throughout your entire video.

Add channel art. This is an image that is seen at the top of your channel page. YouTube will show examples of how the image will be displayed on the website, a TV, or a mobile device. Try to put the focus of the picture in the middle; when your channel is viewed on a mobile device, the sides of the picture will be cut off. You don't want to be left with half your face!
Try to tell a story with your thumbnails. Show an image that sets up or teases a situation. Make the viewer wonder what happens next, or what happened before. This Amy Schmittauer thumbnail with the words “I Quit” tells a story that complements the video title. If you can feature an image that contains some action or movement of some kind, even better.
This description can be a maximum of 5,000 words, allowing users to understand the subject of the playlist at a glance and YouTube’s algorithm to take into account the contents of the playlist. Target wrote one sentence describing their Current TV Spots playlist, using keywords like great commercials, exclusive online content and of course Target. Completing the same type of research for the title of your playlist is also recommended when writing the descriptions of your playlists as well.
